At Therapy Center of Buda, we provide neuro-affirming, trauma-informed, and LGBTQ+ affirming speech-language and occupational therapy services. We're dedicated to creating an environment that is grounded in social justice, family-centered, and above all, celebrates the beauty of neurodivergence. While our main focus is the 0-21 population, we do make special exceptions for young adults if we feel confident, we are able to offer beneficial supports. Free consultations are provided over the phone with the Clinic Director and typically last 10-15 minutes. These are extended conversations to see if an evaluation at our facility is appropriate and needed for you or your child. Evaluations are not time based, meaning we evaluate until we feel confident that we have all relevant information to provide competent therapy and supports that are based on the individual's needs. We aim to work to the client's strengths to ensure their success. They are conducted face-to-face and our clinicians employ a variety of standardized, non-standardized, and criterion referenced protocols; depending on the needs of the client. Caregivers or family members are encouraged to stay with the client to ensure all areas of concern are addressed, all questions are answered and recommendations are most appropriate.
Parents/Legal Guardians are provided reports after the formal evaluation and results/recommendations are discussed in order to ensure a team approach to therapy. All treatment sessions offer one-on-one interactions with a licensed therapist in a private office to ensure most optimal outcomes and HIPAA compliance. Family involvement is strongly encouraged and carry-over activities are provided on a regular basis to ensure generalization of therapeutic progress.
Therapy Center of Buda is proud to be able to provide affordable consultations and guidance for families in unique circumstances. Amy, clinic director and owner, is an AuDHDer (Autistic and ADHD) and is our lead speech-language pathologist. Her special focus includes Autism, ADHD, and trauma that is common amongst AuDHDer, Autistic, and ADHDer communities. She also provides formal evaluations to identify if an individual is Autistic. Testing is strength-based and includes affirming modification of the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule- Second Edition (ADOS-2) testing or the Gilliam Autism Rating Scale-2 for formal identification. We practice the neurodiversity model and offer affirming therapies to all of our clients. TCOB proudly is a founding practice of the Therapist Neurodiversity Collective.
The neurodiversity model of therapy values all minds and acknowledges that variations in thinking are natural and endless. In this mindset we focus on the strengths of the client rather that pathologize "deficits."

Specialized TherapiesAll our therapy programs are personalized for each individual child. Diagnostics identify strengths and weaknesses. We take into account how the client learns best. Neurodivergent (e.g., Autistic, ADHD, PTSD, Anxiety, Dyslexic, TBI) are provided ample opportunities for self-regulation throughout the sessions. Diagnosis and treatment of Dyslexia in a neurodiversity model clinic fosters positive self-views. If your child is suspected of having a developmental difference (delay or impairment), learning disorder, or is struggling in school, let's talk about how we can help! Learn more

Affirming Practice
TCOB is an affirming practice dedicated to celebrating neurodivergence, LGBTQ+, and BIPOC communities, and we stand firmly against ableism, racism, xenophobia, and all forms of discrimination. We are deeply grateful to the Indigenous communities, recognizing that we operate on their ancestral lands, and we commit to honoring this truth in our work.
